Guidelines

Purpose

  • To encourage districts and bargaining units to establish and maintain Internet websites as vehicles to provide information to the membership.
  • To recognize the excellence and achievements of districts and bargaining units in this important area of communication.

Number of Awards

  • One award

Eligibility

  • All districts and bargaining units with an active link on the OSSTF/FEESO Provincial Office website's Districts and Bargaining Units page are automatically eligible and entered each year. The award will be based on OSSTF/FEESO district or bargaining unit websites posted for a full calendar year.

Criteria

  • Excellence of design - 25%
  • Quality of information and use of site - 35%
  • Ease of navigation - 15%
  • Speed of display - 10%
  • Interactivity - 15%

Format of Award

  • The award will consist of an acrylic plaque presented to the winning district or bargaining unit at AMPA. A representative from the winning district or bargaining unit will accept the award. The winning district or bargaining unit will also be entitled to display the AMIE Website Award graphic on its website.

Judging

  • Eligible websites will be judged by a panel consisting of an external expert on web design, the Director of the Communications/Political Action Department at Mobile Drive or designate, the Secretariat Liaison to the provincial Communications/Political Action Committee, the Provincial Executive Liaison to the Committee, and three members of the Committee.
  • Final judging for the AMIE Website Award will be carried out at the January meeting. The award will be based on recorded scores from judges based on visits to eligible sites during the calendar year.
