Karen Littlewood was elected at AMPA 2017 to the Provincial Executive as an Executive Officer. Her current term will run until June 2019.
Karen was born in Barrie and received her Bachelor of Science in Languages at Laurentian University, and then completed her Bachelor of Education at Nipissing University. She started her career as an elementary teacher in York Region before moving to Simcoe County in 2000. In 2007, Karen became a secondary teacher for the Simcoe County District School Board in Life Skills and Special Education.
Karen has been the District and Teacher Bargaining Unit President for District 17 – Simcoe, as well as a Provincial Councilor, and served as Vice Chair of Provincial Council for two years. She has also been a member of the provincial Communications / Political Action Committee, and has been an executive member of the Barrie and District Labour Council. Karen and her husband have two children, one of whom serves in the Canadian Military, and the other is currently attending university.
