The award recognizes an OSSTF/FEESO member who distinguishes himself/herself and is involved in the growth and the promotion of the French language within OSSTF/FEESO. Within their workplace, candidates will also have demonstrated contributions to French language activities that have an impact on the education system.
The recipient of the Award of Merit must meet the following criteria:
- Be an active member in good standing in accordance with the provision of By-law 2, Section (1).
- Demonstrate a contribution to the growth and promotion of the French language within OSSTF/FEESO at the provincial or local level (district or bargaining unit). (60 per cent of the weighting)
- Demonstrate a contribution to French language activities that have an impact on the education system in their workplace. (40 per cent of the weighting)
Who can nominate?
All members of OSSTF/FEESO in good standing, Bargaining Unit or District Executives or Provincial Committees or Councils may nominate any other OSSTF/FEESO member. The nominator does not have to come from the same Bargaining Unit or District as the member being nominated.
How are nominations submitted?

When are nominations due?
By January 31.
Who recommends the recipient?
A committee consisting of the Chair of the CSLF and two other members of the CSLF makes a recommendation to the full CSLF.
Who approves the nomination?
The Provincial Executive approves the nominee recommended by the full CSLF.
Where will the presentation occur?
The recipient will be invited to attend AMPA.
