CLC launches Pharmacare video and petition
November 30, 2017 — As part of their National Campaign for Universal Pharmacare, the Canadian Labour Congress (CLC) has launched their new video telling the story of Judy Pope, a Cambridge woman forced to make an impossible choice: pay for medication that would prolong her life, or keep the family’s finances and home intact.
The video chronicles Judy’s painful choice and encourages Canadians to add their voice to the CLC’s online petition. The petition reads:
Nobody should be forced to choose between paying for groceries and paying for the medication they need.
Add your name and help us win prescription drug coverage for everyone in Canada, regardless of their income, age, or where they work or live.
OSSTF/FEESO supports the CLC National Campaign for Universal Pharmacare and encourages all members to share this campaign with their colleagues, family and friends, and to sign the petition.
