Sherry-Ann Bowen-Gordon
Executive Officer
Sherry-Ann Bowen-Gordon is a Speech-Language Pathologist with the York Catholic District School Board and currently serves as a Provincial Executive Officer with the Ontario Secondary School Teachers’ Federation (OSSTF/FEESO). Originally from Barbados, Sherry-Ann earned her Master of Science in Education from California University of Pennsylvania while on a full volleyball scholarship. This experience continues to shape her commitment to teamwork, opportunity, and resilience.
Sherry-Ann first joined OSSTF/FEESO in Owen Sound and later became instrumental in organizing and unionizing the PSSP bargaining unit at York Catholic. She served as Bargaining Unit President for six years, leading her Members during pivotal moments. Now, as part of the Provincial Executive, she represents Members from all sectors and regions across Ontario, advocating for stronger protections, increased engagement, and equity-focused leadership.
She has contributed her voice and leadership to numerous provincial committees and work groups, including the Protective Services Committee, Nominations Committee, OMERS Advisory Work Group, Equity Ad Hoc Work Group, Central Advisory Work Group, and the PSSP Sector Caucus. Most recently, she has taken a lead role in OSSTF’s solidarity initiatives across education unions, as well as in projects to strengthen support for racialized and equity-deserving Members.
Sherry-Ann is deeply committed to member-driven leadership, inclusive advocacy, and defending strong public education through collective action. She brings a grassroots organizing and member engagement lens, a collaborative spirit, and a strong equity focus to her work across the Federation.
