Dave Barrowclough

Prior to working at Provincial Office, Dave taught Physics for the Durham District School Board. Leaving the classroom in 2008, he then worked in the District 13 Office in various roles. Elected to President of the District 13 and the Teachers’ Bargaining Unit in 2011 and held that position for six years to 2017. Dave joined the Member Protection Department in the Protective Services Division at OSSTF/FEESO in January of 2018 and quickly moved to the Negotiations and Contract Maintenance Department. He was then promoted to the position of Director for the Negotiations and Contract Maintenance Department in June of 2021.

Over the last 25 years Dave has amassed extensive experience in negotiations, including leading a five and half week full withdrawal of services strike in the spring of 2015. At Provincial Office, he has worked in grievance / arbitration, education finance, health and dental benefits and long-term disability. He has also served as the lead on the Central Negotiations Dispute Committee.

Dave was promoted to the position of Associate General Secretary of Protective Services in January of 2026.
