About Resolutions

Resolutions may ONLY be submitted by the official representative of the District, Bargaining Unit, Committee, or Council, as per Regulation 20.2 - Provincial Assembly.

The mover owns resolutions, and the mover may make corrections or amendments until the resolution is read into the record at AMPA.

Resolutions to amend the Articles of Amendment or Bylaw 1 must be received by Tuesday, January 13, 2026, at 11:59 p.m. to be considered “On Time.” Amendments to the Articles of Amendment or Bylaw 1 cannot be accepted as “Late Motions.” Resolutions to amend the OSSTF/FEESO Constitution, Regulations, Internal Policies or Procedures, or External Policies must be received by Tuesday January 20, 2026, by 4:00 p.m. to be considered “On Time.” Resolutions submitted after January 20, 2026, and up to Thursday, March 12 at 4:00 p.m. will be deemed “Late.” After March 12 at 4:00 p.m., resolutions will only be accepted by Steering at AMPA and will be deemed “From the Floor.” 

A reminder that any resolution which, when implemented would incur costs, must be accompanied by a cost estimate.

Additionally, each resolution must be submitted with a written rationale not exceeding 150 words.

In accordance with Regulation 20.2, the following are submitting bodies to AMPA. On-time and late motions can be submitted to AMPA only via the submitting bodies. Any motion submitted by a submitting body must have received the approval of that body before being submitted, and must be in submitted by the Secretary or official representative of the submitting body.

Submitting Bodies:

  • Provincial Executive;
  • Provincial Council;
  • provincial committees;
  • provincial councils;
  • Districts;
  • the previous Annual Meeting of the Provincial Assembly as Notice of Motion;
  • a committee (which includes task forces, work groups, or other titles) created by AMPA and which was given direction to report to the next AMPA;
  • Bargaining Units;
  • Mediation Services Resource Bank;
  • OTF Governors and OTF Table Officer.
