Gary joined OSSTF/FEESO Provincial Office in 2012 in the Professional Services Division in the Communications and Political Action Department. He was promoted to Director in June 2019 where he remained in that position until June 2025. Prior to working at the Provincial Office, Gary was the Teacher Bargaining Unit Chief Negotiator in District 14, Kawartha Pine Ridge.

Among Gary’s previous roles at Provincial Office were staff liaison to the First Nations, Métis, Inuit Advisory Work Group, the Communications and Political Action Committee, Environmental Advisory Work Group, the Human Rights Committee, and the Mediation Services Resource Bank. Gary was also the coordinator of national/international coalitions and projects, public opinion research, internal and external campaigns, AMPA, public relations, and many other communications and political action related activities.

Gary was appointed to the position of Interim Associate General Secretary - Professional Services in February 2026.
