Changes effective November 21, 2014

The Certification Council/Certification Appeal Board passed the following Policy Motion:

BIRT Certification REG 2.1.8.2 is to be interpreted as referring to university Faculties of Education with campuses in Ontario.

This motion will allow AQ courses taken from the Ontario campuses of Charles Sturt University and Niagara University to be accepted by the Certification Department for salary upgrading purposes provided they are submitted on an official transcript.

Amendments to the Regulations

The Certification Regulations were reorganized for simplicity and clarity.  The Honour Specialist Program and the Three Session Specialist Program were combined into one Academic Chart.

This process involved no changes to the requirements for upgrading.  The new Regulations can be found in our Policies and Procedures (PDF), page 55 (CERT Reg. 16) to page 58 (CERT Reg. 19).
