2021 is an opportunity for OSSTF members to plan a pathway towards a stronger, more inclusive union. We have faced consecutive years of threats to public education that will only escalate as we face both a provincial election and collective bargaining next year. What lies ahead requires strong leadership and a drive to unite the entire province around public education.
This election presents an opportunity to build a union with a plan for all members.
- A plan that proactively organizes to build a stronger federation.
- A plan that builds on the idea that precarious workers deserve job protection and benefits.
- A plan that centres equity by moving from words to action.
- A plan that ensures our support staff are a key part of our federation identity.
- A plan that proactively builds alliances in our universities to fight back against deep funding cuts.
As a local leader I understand that for us to win our locals need a renewed level of support. As President I would ensure that all our plans are focused on building local strength and resources.
I am asking for your support so that we can work together to build a strong, inclusive vision for public education in Ontario.
