District 6A, Thunder Bay

Paul began his teaching career in 1992 and has been actively involved in Federation work ever since.

Paul's leadership experience is extensive. He served as a department Chair and Vice-Principal before committing to focusing all of his professional energy on Federation work.  In 2010 Paul was elected Chief Negotiator; in 2012, was elected TBU President; and in 2013, District President, a role where he took great pride in working closely with the three support staff units in his District.

While a Provincial Councillor, Paul served on provincial committees and OTF Governor.  AMPA 2017 saw Paul elected to your Provincial Executive as an Executive Officer and in 2019, Vice President. Paul chaired the Teacher/OT Provincial Table team during our most recent, and very challenging round of Provincial Negotiations.

Paul knows what it means to roll up his sleeves and work hard when times are tough. Whether it was battling Harris in 1997, leading his local through the difficulties of Bill 115, or our current battle with the Ford Government where day in and day out Paul pushes back against the imminent threats to publicly funded education in Ontario.

When the pressure is on, his only priority is the members he serves.

Paul is looking forward to AMPA 2021 and the opportunity to engage with delegates and share with them his determination to defend publicly funded education in this province and defeat any government that threatens it.

To achieve this Paul believes we must stand strong, but more importantly - stand together!
