Toronto - June 11, 2020 - On May 26, 2020, the federal government announced that it was postponing the release of an action plan on missing and murdered Indigenous women and girls. A comprehensive plan was supposed to be released in June 2020, on the one-year anniversary of the release of the final report Reclaiming Power and Place: The Final Report of the National Inquiry into Missing and Murdered Indigenous Women and Girls.
To promote healing and prevent further death and harm, the OSSTF/FEESO has formally requested the federal government announce a plan to act on the report and the 231 Calls for Justice.
