Vaino Poysa
Associate General Secretary

Before joining OSSTF/FEESO Provincial Office in 2011, Vaino worked as in-house counsel for a provincial construction trade union and in private practice with a law firm specializing in labour and employment law.

In his decade as In-House Legal Counsel, Vaino provided thoughtful, strategic, and results-driven counsel to OSSTF/FEESO on a broad range of matters, including contract negotiations, grievance arbitrations, labour board proceedings, and health and safety, human rights, employment insurance, pension, and professional discipline matters. He has represented the interests of the Federation and its members in both official languages before all levels of the Ontario Courts, administrative tribunals, and professional regulatory colleges.

Vaino was promoted to Director of Member Protection in March 2021 and to Associate General Secretary in the Protective Services Division in December 2021.
