Mental Health Resources

OSSTF/FEESO has long recognized the impact that mental health can have on students and the educators that work with them. In addition to our workshops, OSSTF/FEESO has identified a variety of resources and professional development opportunities that members may find useful.

School Mental Health Ontario (SMHO)
OSSTF is a proud partner in SMHO, collaborating with affiliates and others to create and provide mental health tools to educators, students and families.
Children's Mental Health Ontario (CMHO)
OSSTF is invested in the work of CMHO. Advocating with CMHO for children and those that support them, OSSTF liaises with the board and staff, sends members to conferences and disseminates CMHO training opportunities and resources to members.
Ontario Coalition for Children and Youth Mental Health – OPSBA
The Coalition is a multi-sectoral network of provincial partners in education, mental health and addictions, health, public health, justice, community and social services, and research along with parents / caregivers and young people.
School Mental Health Assist
School Mental Health ASSIST (SMH ASSIST) is “a provincial implementation support team designed to help Ontario school boards to promote student mental health and well-being.” This website contains resources, including tip sheets, on-line tutorials on topics including mental health literacy for educators, tip sheets on opioid use, recognizing and responding to anxiety/mood disorders/attention, hyperactivity and/or Impulsivity problems.
